Q&A: How should we say it is a child free wedding without offending?

Once you have made this decision you carefully need to communicate it without upsetting anyone. If parents only are named on the invite it should be assumed their children are not invited, but you may need to be clearer with a specific mention, for example: “We hope you understand that we have chosen to make our special day adults only" or “Due to numbers, and the maximum capacity of the room, we will not be able to invite children to the wedding or reception.”
